Terms of business
Damson Web is a trading style of Bursill Images Limited, registered in England and Wales, Company No. 09017942. These terms explain how we work together, from your first quote to launch day and beyond.

These terms apply to all website design, photography and hosting work carried out by Damson Web. By accepting a quote, you agree to them.
If anything in your quote differs from these terms, the quote takes priority.
2. Quotes and prices
Every quote is fixed and sets out exactly what's included. Quotes are valid for 30 days.
If you ask for extra work that isn't in the quote, we'll tell you the cost and get your agreement before we start.
3. Payment
For websites, we invoice half when you accept the quote and the other half when you've approved the finished site and it goes live. Invoices are due within 14 days.
For photography, we invoice half before the shoot and the other half when we deliver your images. Hosting is billed monthly in advance, or yearly in advance if you choose a yearly plan. Domain names are billed yearly.
4. What we need from you
To keep your project on time, we need your content, such as your logo, photos and details of your services, along with prompt feedback on drafts.
If we're waiting on you for more than 30 days, we may pause the project and agree a new launch date with you.
5. Changes and revisions
Your quote includes as many rounds of changes as you need at the preview stage. We want you to be happy with the site before it goes live.
Bigger changes after launch, such as new pages, are quoted separately. Small text changes are included in the Hosting and care plan.
6. Ownership and copyright
Once you've paid in full, you own your website's design, code and content. If you move to another host, we'll hand over the files.
Until then, the work remains ours. Any third-party fonts, images or software stay under their own licences.
7. Photography and video usage
Once you've paid in full, we transfer the copyright in the photography and video we create for you to you, so you can use it however you like, with no time limit.
In return, you allow us to keep using the images to promote our own business, including on our website, in our portfolio and on social media.
8. Hosting, email and domains
Hosting costs £10 a month or £100 a year and includes UK hosting, SSL, email accounts on your domain and daily backups. Hosting and care costs £25 a month or £250 a year and adds small text changes, a monthly speed check, priority fixes and ongoing help with email. Online shops add £20 a month or £200 a year to either plan. Email addresses cost £5 each to set up; setting them up is included, and ongoing email help is part of Hosting and care. .co.uk domain names cost £15 a year and are registered in your name. Other endings, such as .com, cost more, so we'll quote for them separately.
Monthly plans can be cancelled at any time with 30 days' notice. If you're on a yearly plan and cancel part-way through, the plan isn't refunded: it runs to the end of the year you've paid for, and you can switch after that. Cancelling the hosting doesn't mean losing your site: it's still yours, and we'll hand over all the files so it can be moved to another host. Your site stays online with us until your notice period or paid year ends.
9. Cancellation
If you cancel a project after it's started, you'll pay for the work done up to that point. The first payment covers early planning and isn't refundable.
If we need to cancel a photo shoot because of illness or bad weather, we'll rearrange it at no extra cost.
10. Liability
We take care to make sure everything we deliver works as it should. If something isn't right, tell us and we'll fix it.
Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid us for the work in question. We aren't liable for indirect losses, such as lost profits or lost business.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
Any disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
